Painting No. 15 – Old Ranger Cabin,
NE Side of Cedar Lake
It was 30 degrees this afternoon, with a slightly overcast sky. I finished painting the old ranger cabin.
Earlier I had spoken with Jake for permission to paint it, so I paddled over in the morning. The occupants were very accommodating and interested in not only my art but in the thrust of the project.
I always like to imagine the scene here in the park before all the clatter and clutter of modern times made peace and solitude almost extinct. The reality of winter temperatures, however, chills my nostalgia: there is a reason they call it `”Cabin Fever”. For those of us who enjoy our own company though, it just might be the thing.
